The special 2009 prize for best use of Kiwiana Theme has been awarded to Kevin Baker for his beautiful Tui and Kowhai design leadlight panel (featured below).

Categories for the 2009 DeVetro Art Glass Competition were;
Leadlight - Glass Mosaic - Fused Glass Jewellery - Kiln Worked Glass - Copperfoil Suncatchers - Lampshades
Judging; Qualified professional artists will be selected at the discretion of Leadlight Products NZ management. Your entry may be of an original, pre published or altered published design. Two finalists in each respective category will be selected by the judges, from which one grand winner will be chosen by public voting for each category. The category finalists will be announced and listed on our website in October 2009, public voting will take place throughout October/November. The grand prize winners will be announced in the Dec/Jan issue of our Get Cracking newsletter.
Prizes; Judges will choose 2 Finalists per category, each will recieve $50.00 worth of art glass and go foreward to the public voting stage. From which one Grand winner per category will be chosen by public voting and recieve $200.00 worth of art glass and their Leadlight Products NZ - DeVetro Art Glass 2009 Category award.
Special Prize; $100.00 voucher awarded to the entry with the best use of Kiwiana or South Pacific theme. The winner of this prize will also be presented with the Leadlight Products NZ - DeVetro Art Glass 2009 Kiwiana award.
